Theories of corrosion and cathodic protection are discussed, and examples given to demonstrate application of theories; mechanisms of electrolytic and galvanic corrosion are analyzed; methods of applying cathodic protection are described and characteristics for particular application compared; examples of application include underground coated pipe, underground bare pipe lines, seawater environment, and fresh water application for water storage tanks.
