A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Laboratory studies of seepage phenomena, especially those occurring under flood levees in environment of gravity wells, horizontal filter wells, and in karstic rock media, carried out at Technical University, Budapest, are discussed and publications on subject reviewed; studies of under-seepage under flood levees were concerned primarily with hydraulic gradient line of pressures acting on underside of levee body and on cover overlying water-bearing layer; horizontal filter wells were studied to determine relationships between parameters controlling hydraulically most advantageous filter length; studies on movement of water in fissured rock included development of new model technique.
