Precast flume panels -- In Queensland irrigation project
Main and distributory canals are of various types, depending on terrain and soils, and include reinforced concrete bench flumes, trapezoidal earth and concrete lined canals, and reinforced concrete pipe lines; special feature of project is use of precast bench flumes; individual wall panels were designed for internal water load, assuming water to top of flume, and load factor of 1.50; slab was designed as horizontal beam, continuous over three supports, while vertical beams were designed as simply supported beams; flume erected to this design has overall dimensions of 15 ft wide by 8 ft high, and runs for length of 6000 ft.
