Duplicate locks for Illinois waterway
Results of study by Corps of Engineers indicate advisability of providing duplicate locks along Illinois Waterway extending 330 mi distance from Mississippi River to Lake Michigan; waterway consists of series of pools created by system of locks and dams; statistics on lock operation, annual commerce through each lock and on waterway were used in determining capacities of existing single locks.
