Two large shells of post-tensioned precast concrete
Methods in use of concrete panels supported on cables and grouted together to form many shapes for large roof shells at costs far below those of other known methods are discussed; examples presented are Oklahoma State Fair that is roofed with elliptical shell 400×320 ft, put in place for $3.93/sq ft, and Arizona State Fairgrounds Coliseum that has hyperbolic paraboloid shell 380 ft in diam, built at cost of $ 5.07/sq ft; temporary support was provided by high scaffolding until loading could be completed and cables tensioned.
