A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Formula is derived for predicting total maintenance costs for concrete roadways in South Louisiana; equivalent traffic volume, surface condition, subsoil, surface and right-of-way factors are taken into account; procedure lends itself to machine computation and data processing on equipment existing in various state highway departments; burden costs, research costs, updating price indices can be integrated into computer program for comprehensiveness; example of use of formula.
