Determination of shear strength properties of bituminous mixtures by use of tension and unconfined compression tests
Results of investigation conducted to determine if values of cohesion and angle of internal friction of bituminous mixtures could be found by tension and unconfined compression tests; results are compared with results of 50-Blow Marshall and Hveem Tests and correlations were developed to determine relationship between true properties and those given by empirical tests; effects of temperature variations on strength properties of mix were evaluated by performing tests at 110 and 140 F.
