Watertight screens surrounding excavations for nuclear power plant at Saint-Laurent-des-Eaux (France); to protect 160×120 m excavation site from underground water seepage, watertight screen was constructed by driving series of consecutive steel sections to depth of 8 m, pulling them out, and injecting fissure thus obtained with liquid concrete consisting of local clay and cement in 2 to 1 ratio; by diffusing into soil, liquid mixture formed perfectly watertight enclosure permitting safe excavation and foundation work.
