Statistical data on transportation of road materials and construction equipment in United States; aggregate is largest freight item; 42, 000,000 tons sand, gravel, broken stone and slag moved by rail; cement made 11,000,000 tons of freight; steel created 3,500,000 tons; freight contribution of construction equipment; state highway construction furnished 60,000,000 tons revenue freight.
