New concrete pipe joint for stopping leaks
Method designed by O. A. KNOPP of Oakland, Calif, consists of inserting perforated tube known as hypo-tube around and against bell of joint, pouring concrete around this joint, letting concrete set and then forcing specially prepared emulsion through tube within concrete against joint; emulsion reacts with concrete to form insoluble salts which plug up pores of concrete on inside and stop up any possible leakage.
