Incomplete curing weakens concrete surfaces
Tests at Columbia University to determine effects of improper curing on strength and resistance to wear; cores were cut and each successive inch of depth was subjected to compression and abrasion tests; rapid evaporation from unprotected surfaces affects concrete for depth of several inches, and may cause as much as 50% loss in strength and in resistance to wear.
