Repairing bridge piers of disintegrated concrete
Disintegration of tops of piers of Potomac River bridge at Williamsport, Md, caused by freezing and thawing of water seeping into underground anchor bolt holes; old concrete removed and new concrete placed under traffic; main bridge girders were carried during construction by existing floor beams assisted by beam and rod yokes; traffic diverted to opposite side of structure during work.
