Mexico City's peripheric belt; circular highway system is designed to demarcate urban area, become start and ending of all other road system axes and serve as connection between highways, and is intended mainly to prevent further growth of overpopulated city by stimulating and facilitating longitudinal movement while restricting and channeling cross-city traffic; new underground intersection and pedestrian bridges which form part of project are described.
