Adaptable, thin, prefabricated prestressed concrete slabs for facing dams and canals
New technique developed in Italy by Silvano Zorzi for manufacturing in-situ watertight, smooth, crackproof covering of canal bottoms and dam walls and crests; covering consists of 3-5 cm thick, 1-2.5 m wide, and 10-30 m long precast concrete strips prestressed longitudinally with bundles of thin wire; special machinery for prefabricating, transporting, and placing strips into position was developed.
