Fehmarnsund Bridge, Hamburg-Copenhagen connection link
964 m long bridge connecting Fehmarn Island with continent consists of seven 102-m long steel girder spans and one 248-m long suspension bridge; latter is composed of 2 inclined steel arches joined together at their apex, 69 m above sea level, and supporting orthotropic bridge deck by means of network of suspension cables; construction of auxiliary artificial islands, caissons and piers is described.
