Potomac interceptor sewer tunnels and river crossing construction
Construction details of 3000 ft river crossing of sewer line featuring 78 in. precast concrete pipe, and 14,000 and 9000-ft tunnels at its ends are discussed; pumping of cast-in place tunnel linings is also described; sections were cored at not more than 100-ft centers of cast-in-place concrete lining; river crossing line required 78 in. precast concrete pipe encasement.
