A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Hydraulic design of manifolds is developed in theoretical manner; then practical means of handling manifold design is suggested; manifolds behave in unorthodox manner and they will not function as expected; pertinent characteristic of manifolds is that hydraulic gradient can actually go up in direction of flow; this can be used to good advantage by designer; suggested application for optimum distribution of wash water through sand filter underdrain is shown; circular sewage trickling filters can be used as example of application of rotating manifold.
