Two crawler cranes with braced booms 460 ft apart formed cableway for stringing cables and placing 1000 precast concrete panels each weighing 3400 lb; four trucks on ring beam carried working platforms and jacks for stressing 72 cables which support roof of Arizona State Fair Coliseum; roof is circular, having diameter of 367 ft; periphery of roof is formed by concrete ring beam supported on 36 steel columns which vary in height from 60 ft on two low sides to 100 ft on two high sides.
