Application of moire method to problem of road pavement analysis
Theoretical methods for estimation of stresses in road pavement due to traffic loading have not led to satisfactory design methods because of difficulties involved in accurately describing stress/ strain characteristics of materials used; application of moire method in investigation of soil and slabs interaction is described; results of tests on road-slab model are analyzed; it was determined that only moments in region of point of load application were largely influenced by changes of load, and that by variation of loaded contact area moments at all points were influenced.
