A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Conditions for which subbases are required under rigid pavements are reviewed and performance requirements of base courses are described; tentative conclusions regarding subbases resulting from past research and investigation are discussed; areas for future research are pointed out and one of these, laboratory compaction control of coarse grained granular material, is discussed in detail; method of laboratory compaction control for granular materials described by H. W.Humphres and employed by Washington Dept of Highways.
