Factors influencing shrinkage of soil-cement
Linear shrinkage of 2×2-in. diam molded soil-cement specimens was measured at prescribed intervals during curing; soils used were standard graded Ottawa sand with no clay, Iowa dune sand and Iowa loess silt with 2.8 and 16% montmorillonitic clay, respectively, and North Carolina clay with 30% kaolinitic clay; effects of varying cement content, initial water content, and curing method were evaluated; results show no relation between total shrinkage and cement content in ranges investigated.
