Rheological properties of compacted soil-asphalt mixtures
Study was made of strength characteristics of soil-asphalt mixtures for certain particular types of stress conditions; main stress system considered was that of constant load of unconfined compressive nature applied on cylindrical specimen with deformation observed as function of time; other tests were carried out for constant rates of axial strains with increasing stress; materials were mixed at water contents near fluffing point and cured in constant-temperature oven at 110 F, before compaction under static compressive load in double-plunger compaction mold.
