A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Real and pressing need for research in all areas of solid wastes, from analysis to storage and collection, to transportation, to processing, and to ultimate disposal is emphasized; it is shown that increased educational efforts are needed immediately if competent personnel are to be trained to meet needs of next few decades; challenge for engineers in solid wastes is to reduce their volume to minimum and to retain value of land for ultimate disposal.
