Design of prestressed concrete containment vessels of nuclear reactors
In prestressed concrete work, stresses are not proportional to applied loads, and, in addition, mechanical behavior is completely altered in instant of concrete cracking; crack inception and rupture are considered in detail in light of test on models of E.D.F.-3 and E.D.F.-4 containment vessels, and safety coefficients with regard to cracking and rupture are discussed.
