East Ohio completes $11 million line
New 97 mi, 30 in. diam pipe line is designed for rate flow of 600 MMcf/day to supply natural gas to industries in northeast Ohio; it crossed line burrowed under 120 roads and highways, tunneled under 10 sets of railroad tracks, crossed two rivers, dived under old canal and crossed abandoned coal mine; 7 1/2 ft long ripper on dozer was used to loosen earth; pipes were protected by anodes, installed at 1000 ft interval, in addition to coal tar and wrapping.
