A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Results are given of tensile strength measurements made on rock using diametrical compression of disk with central hole as technique for determining tensile strength; detailed quantitative information of variation of tensile strength with lamination orientation is given; it is shown that relationship may exist between tensile and compressive strengths of rock.
