Important mill features; material flow of modern installations; high lift, 2-high mill with high speed screwdown well suited for producing slabs up to about 60 in. wide; arrangement for driving vertical rolls of universal mill; means of disposing of slabs produced on high capacity mill; slab piling arrangement requiring less equipment and still providing adequate slab piling capacity.
