Bituminous pretreated aggregates for bituminous surface treatment
To avoid dust nuisance during construction of bituminous surface treatment, equipment was constructed for precoating aggregates with bituminous material; equipment consists of trough with U-shaped cross section 8 ft in length and 18 in. in width; in surface treatment conventional distribution and self propelled aggregate spreader are used; cost of precoating is 90¢ per ton; bitumen used for precoating is 1/2% of weight of aggregate.
