Reinforced concrete cylinder bridge foundations, masonry piers and earth-works in East Africa for makupa causeway
Construction of causeway connecting Port of Kilindini on island of Mombasa with mainland; waterway bridged is 1296 ft wide with ordinary spring tides of 15 ft, bridge portion being 300 ft long and balance earth bank causeway; bridge is in five spans of 60 ft each, supported on six masonry piers built on 12-ft concrete cylinder piles, sunk three abreast.
