Calculation of horizontal forces applied to deep foundations in clayey and silty soils
Conclusions are drawn from series of 30 tests carried out in medium clay for which penetration depth, combination of forces applied, frontal dimension of piles and their rigidity were studied; measurements were made both on driving and on bearing capacity of piles, as well as on behavior under horizontal load, combined or not with vertical load; account is given of tests on silt and of comparison with Japanese tests carried out in sands.
