Some analytical results for plane 90° bend flow
Analysis of inviscid nonturbulent flow around bends preceded and followed by straight conduits on potential and frozen-vorticity basis indicates manner in which bend curvature and approach velocity profile affect flow; separation is found more likely with sharper curvature and more pointed velocity profile; approach flow has less effect on cavitation susceptibility and metering characteristics of bends.
