Investigation was made of hydraulic performance of sprinkler systems with layouts as described at end-side, end-center, center-side, and center-center under different conditions; for comparison purposes, it was assumed that area of sprinkler operation would be that contained within quadrant with its center on corner of room adjacent to most unfavorably placed sprinkler; sprinkler experience, considerations in designing piping system, and pump requirements; intermediate level sprinklers.
