Dewatering and ground water control for deep excavations
Methods by which dewatering and pressure relief may be accomplished are described; methods for determining water table and characteristics of pervious aquifer as related to control of groundwater; techniques for determining groundwater conditions, characteristics of pervious aquifers, and dewatering requirements; and procedures for designing, installing, operating, and checking performance of dewatering systems for various types of deep excavations or structures; applicability of different methods of dewatering to various types of excavations, groundwater lowering, and soil conditions is discussed.
