A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Civil Engineering Systems Laboratory (CESL) at M.I.T. is described; laboratory features loose federation of all faculty and students who have interest in systems approach to engineering problems; its primary function is to provide means of communication and cooperation between traditional groupings within civil engineering; problems associated with computer-oriented research and impact of CES L on curriculum are discussed.
