Comparison of recommendations for lighting of tunnel entrances
Although experimental methods used by F.Maeder, and O. Fuchs, and J.B.de Boer and D.A.Schreuder in determination of luminance required in test field (tunnel entrance) with varied surround luminance (exterior of tunnel) were different, results were very similar; work by authors mentioned above on adaptation time required to retain acuity of vision also gave similar curves for percentage fall from original luminance vs time of adaptation; recommendations by same authors for fall of luminance with distance within tunnel, are again similar.
