Reference is made to investigation of office conditions by Liverpool University's Pilkington Research Unit and findings arrived at; representative examples are described -- headquarters of Co-operative Insurance Society in Manchester; Robinson Building, Bristol; Shell Building, Heinz Building, several Birmingham buildings, Britannic House, etc; lighting installation of office for 1300 people at West Midlands Gas Board headquarters at Solihull; buildings for public authorities, New Zealand House, Hemel Hempstead Town Hall and Cornwall County Hall; example of "Burolandschaft", term used for principle of free office landscaping; desks are arranged in related groups or in lines following sweeping curve; photographs.
