Lighting meeting house of Sussex university
Tungsten-halogen fittings have been used for interior lighting of chapel in meeting house; room, which is for use of all denominations, is circular, with walls of concrete blocks alternating with panels of colored glass; on ring-beam 24 ft above floor, 60 adjustable acoustic baffles are mounted, and these conceal lamps; each of fittings has 240-v 500-w tungsten-halogen lamp; 30 units illuminate conical ceiling, using cross-projection method and ensuring that light cutoff does not overlap top edges of opposite baffles; other lamps wash walls with light; walls and ceiling can be lit separately; average illumination-level is 170 lux.
