Free vibrations of cantilevered conical shells
Free vibration characteristics are determined analytically and compared with available experimental data; numerical results obtained for cantilevered conical shell were in good agreement with experimental values; frequencies of conical shell were greatly affected by any variation of meridianal force boundary condition; investigation of cantilevered conical shell clamped at large radius and free at small radius produced interesting result; at low wave numbers, free end of conical shell vibrated with large amplitudes; for high circumferential wave numbers, free end essentially stopped vibrating and largest amplitudes occurred near clamped large radius.
