Design of long prestressed parabolic shells
Analysis of transverse action of long prestressed shells in which tendons are draped within thickness of shell membrane; equations are developed for horizontal tendon and shearing force components in parabolic shells; maximum transverse moments are found to occur at crown and near supports, rather than at midspan; worked example given illustrates design method.
