Effect of soil deformation on statics of hollow gravity dams
Actual constraint condition of dam basis on stresses of hollow gravity dam are taken into account; investigation uses three-dimensional elastic equilibrium equations; solution is obtained using relaxation method applied to computer programming; numerical application to buttress dam illustrates importance of soil deformation, i.e. ratio of soil elasticity coefficient to that of dam.
