Report deals with design and construction of grout curtain of Sylvenstein Dam, results of check measurements, and problem of effectiveness of sealing operations; subsoil conditions are characterized by heavy overburden in valley floor above main dolomite and groundwater passing through this natural fill; various technical foundation possibilities for 41-m-high earthfill dam are discussed; solution chosen to seal permeable loose soil zones by pore grouting; measurements results on seepage through injection curtain gathered during observation period of several years; measuring method is introduced that rapidly and reliably shows up any changes in permeability of sealing curtain.
