Seepage flow through earth dam
S.Charmonman's method for numerical solution of Laplace's equation in two dimensions is described; solution is obtained in complex-potential plane and is transformed back to physical plane by use of Cauchy-Reimenn equations; example of numerical solution for seepage flow through earth dam placed on impervious base, having upstream face of constant slope, and drainage blanket; flow nets and flow-net coordinates are presented for embankment slopes of 1 (vertical) on 1 (horizontal), 1 on 2, 1 on 3 and 1 on 4 and for three different penetrations of drainage blanket.
