Farahnaz Pahlavi dam at Latiyan
Dam is 107 m high massive-head concrete buttress dam located on Jay-e Rud, 25 km northeast of Tehran; associated with dam are 45 Mw capacity hydroelectric peak power plant, 45 m high re-regulating dam 1 km down river and 2.7 m diam concrete lined tunnel 9.6 km long, conveying raw water to treatment plant on outskirts of Tehran; extensive exploration, testing and treatment of main dam foundation, together with principal design and construction features are dealt with.
