Foundation aspects in arch dams
Aspects of topography, geology of foundation, design, foundation treatment, and reservoir filling schedule are considered in study of arch dam foundations with view to examine feasibility of more arch dams in India; study showed that considerations for arch dam foundations are not much different from those for other types of dams except that in this case detailed study is required for joints, its dips and strike direction in foundation rock strata.
