In-situ concrete tests -- research on quality and possible defects of concrete
Difficulties encountered when defining weak or defective zones of concrete dam or of concrete facing of rockfill dam have led technicians to try out more or less successfully large number of methods of instrumentation; findings of 14 tests of very different instrumentation and methods, carried out on several structures, have solved, with adequate practical precision, problems of -- fissures, segregation and underlying voids; interpretation of findings involves statistics, whereby it is possible to make practical evaluation of extent of defects.
