Construction of Plover Cove Dams
Work and materials involved in dredging up to 55 ft of soft mud and constructing, mostly below sea level, 1 1/4 mi long and 125 ft high main dam and two subsidiary dams are outlined; mention is made of several significant changes in dam designs, arising from conditions encountered during construction period or to suit contractor's proposals; special problems which arose solely or mainly from construction under water; some 50 special investigations and studies were carried out in connection with these problems and main conclusions are listed.
