Sound-wave velocities and their pressure and temperature derivatives of polycrystalline CaO have been determined by means of pulse superposition method; Grueneisen parameters of compressional and shear modes are calculated, from which acoustic Grueneisen parameter is estimated to be 1.12; this value agrees well with Grueneisen parameter obtained from thermal properties; pressure derivative of bulk modulus was found to be 5.2. (16113)
