Nonlinear parameters of vibrating foundations
Review of theories considering vibrating footings on elastic half-space, and comparison of results with simple damped oscillator show principal insufficiency of large group of theories frequently applied to problem; experimental results show additional sublinearity of shear modulus of soil, dependent on amplitude of dynamic stress-strain rate; principal difference between effects of dynamic and static load on soil and possible solutions for nature of nonlinear elastic moduli of soil are discussed.
