Ultrasonic laboratory measurements were performed on 27 grades of reinforced gravel aggregate concrete as step in development of method for on-site testing of concrete for cracking; clear and reproducible dependence of scatter of ultrasonic pulse velocity measurements on state of cracking was established; pressure of transverse reinforcement affected absolute values but not characteristic scatter; study will be continued.
