Comparison of ring-tensile strength of concrete with compressive, flexural, and splitting-tensile strengths
Details of tests carried out to correlate ring-tensile strength of concrete with compressive, flexural, and splitting-tensile strength; 39 concrete mixes involving 629 test specimens were made; comparative ring, beam, and cylinder specimens were cast from same batch of concrete and tested at 28 days, and results were analyzed statistically; regression analyses show high degree of correlation between ring-tensile strength of concrete and compressive, flexural, and splitting-tensile strengths; reproducibility of test is comparable to reproducibility obtained in other standard tests.
